Operating indicator light for transformer speed setting of voltage-controlled motors/ fans. The step switch built into the device can be used to set five different speeds on the connected motor/fan . Switching level 1 corresponds to the lowest speed and switching level 5 to the highest speed. The control circuit of the control unit is protected by a 2 A fuse . Control units of this type have a connection for a flow monitor and a gas solenoid valve. The flow monitor must be installed in the air flow of the fan . If the fan delivers a sufficient amount of air , the gas solenoid valve is
switched on via the flow monitor. These devices are primarily used in kitchen exhaust air when gas appliances are installed. If the max. permissible winding temperature of the motor/ fan is exceeded, the thermal contacts inserted in the motor winding open . The main protection built into the control unit drops out and disconnects the motor/fan from the mains. After the cause of the fault has been rectified or after a power failure, the device can only be switched back on using the 0 position on the five-position switch.
